M33 // The Triangulum Galaxy

by stargazer Email

//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.

m33, also called the triangulum galaxy, is a spiral galaxy about 3 million lightyears
away in the constellation triangulum. its the third largest galaxy in the local group,
a group of galaxies that also contains the milky way and the andromeda galaxy and
it may be a gravitationally bound companion of the andromeda galaxy.
m33 has an apparent magnitude of 6.2. Heres the image i made:

M31 // The Great Andromeda (Nebula) Galaxy

by stargazer Email

//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.

yet another very famous deepsky object, the great andromeda galaxy, m31 is
a spiral galaxy about 2.5 million lightyears away in the constellation andromeda.
it is in a moonless night visible to the naked eye. andromeda is the largest galaxy
of the local group, which consists of the andromeda, milky way, the triangulum,
and about 30 other galaxies. the 2006 observations by the spitzer space telescope
revealed that M31 contains one trillion stars, greatly exceeding the number
of stars in our own galaxy, the milky way. heres the pic i made:
