NGC7662 // The Blue Snowball Nebula
by stargazer
//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.
this is an image of NGC7662, the blue snowball nebula. it was, with a visual
magnitude of 8.3, pretty easy to find, even though seeing was bad on that evening.
this planetary nebula has a variable star in its center and is located in andromeda,
about 5000 lightyears away with a radius of 0,8 lightyears. There you go again:

M33 // The Triangulum Galaxy
by stargazer
//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.
m33, also called the triangulum galaxy, is a spiral galaxy about 3 million lightyears
away in the constellation triangulum. its the third largest galaxy in the local group,
a group of galaxies that also contains the milky way and the andromeda galaxy and
it may be a gravitationally bound companion of the andromeda galaxy.
m33 has an apparent magnitude of 6.2. Heres the image i made:

M27 // The Dumbbell Nebula
by stargazer
//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.
this is another very famous, 1250 lightyear distant nebula and also the first object
of that type that has been discovered. the dumbell nebula has a visual magnitude of
about 7.4 and features an extremely hot blueish dwarf (85,000K) at its center. the
central star is quite bright at mag 13.5. the nebula would possibly look like a ring
viewed from a different angle (similar to m57, captured earlier). pretty cool imo.

M13 // Hercules Globular Cluster
by stargazer
//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.
another very interesting and bright object, m13, also called the hercules globular
cluster, discovered by edmond halley in 1714, and catalogued by charles messier
on June 1, 1764. m13 is about 25.000 lightyears away and has a radius of 145ly.
m13 features several hundred thousand stars. the arecibo message of 1974,
designed to communicate the existence of human life to extraterrestrials,
was transmitted into the direction of m13. heres my shot into its direction:

M31 // The Great Andromeda (Nebula) Galaxy
by stargazer
//////////////////////////////////////////// OPiNiON & FACTS /.
yet another very famous deepsky object, the great andromeda galaxy, m31 is
a spiral galaxy about 2.5 million lightyears away in the constellation andromeda.
it is in a moonless night visible to the naked eye. andromeda is the largest galaxy
of the local group, which consists of the andromeda, milky way, the triangulum,
and about 30 other galaxies. the 2006 observations by the spitzer space telescope
revealed that M31 contains one trillion stars, greatly exceeding the number
of stars in our own galaxy, the milky way. heres the pic i made:
